Earth Element Massage Oil~ Grounded and Present~ 2 oz.
This massage oil is consciously formulated to support the Earth element in the whole being and nourish the qualities of feeling grounded, stable, nourished, capable, knowing one’s self worth and establishing boundaries.
Burdock- Burdock is oily, earthy, cooling, high in vitamins and minerals and grounding. Internally, among many other actions, burdock is specific for supporting the gut. It contains “unique and valuable starches and soluble fibers which are rich in prebiotic sugars that feed the beneficial ecology of bacteria within the GI.” (Sajah Popham) One of these starches is inulin, which when applied topically helps balance the skins’ microbiome, and because the molecules inulin are so supple they leave the skin with this quality as well.
Milk thistle- This is not an ordinary thistle, it is an epic thistle. The first time I ever made a flower essence was of this flower-I encourage you to google a picture of this flower if you’re not familiar with it (but come back and purchase your oil!), you will see right away one of the main qualities that came through when we were crafting the essence and why it is included in the earth element oil; its’ essence of imparting boundaries. The bracts of the flower have huge spikes which are majorly protective to the heart of its’ medicine which is the seed.
St John’s Wort- A plant that truly comes across with the energy of the sun, so why is it in the earth element oil? The latin for St. Johns Wort is Hypericum perforatum- if you look closely you will see little black dots around the edges of the leaves- then hold the leaves up to the sun and you will see the sun shining through the dot. This is where the name perforatum comes from. Energetically this is a signature for St. John’s Wort in that is sews up holes in the auric body- where one maybe loosing their sun- vital life force. So it is included in the earth oil to impart the quality of boundaries into the being.
Comfrey- Comfrey’s roots reach deep down into the earth and harvest many nutrients from the soil. Comfrey is known as a “nutritive” herb, it is nourishing in that it translates these nutrients into our bodies when used. Comfrey is also known for bringing the “earth” of our body back together, it has long been known by the name “knit bone”. The bones, skin, and all of the structural components of the body correspond to the earth element. A poultice of comfrey on a broken bone works so well that it is imperatively recommended to have the bone set back in place before poulticing because it could fuse the bone back together in the wrong way if it not. This principal apples to and deep wounds as well- comfrey is known as a vulnerary, which means that it promotes the healing of wounds or irritated tissues, it is just important to make sure that there is no infection present when applying comfrey to a wound so that it does not seal the infection in.
